About this speaker

Dr. Lauren Dwyer is the academic chair for Data and AI in the School for Advanced Digital Technologies (SADT) at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT). She has her PhD in Communication and Culture from Toronto Metropolitan and York Universities where she explored the intersection of human experiences of emotion and technological design, particularly in relation to the growing issue of loneliness in our modern society. Lauren is currently overseeing the development of programs that focus on utilizing data and AI to drive innovation in various fields. Through her work at SADT, she is able to use her expertise in communication studies and technology to help shape the future of digital innovation.
