Tomi Ajele is a writer, speaker, and collaborator, excited by any projects that exist at the intersection of media, advocacy, and community partnerships. As the Editor-In-Chief of Afros In Tha City, Tomi is dedicated to amplifying Black voices in Mohkínstsis/Calgary. Her writing on equity, diversity, and inclusion can also be found in The Huffington Post, the CBC, the Sprawl, Avenue Magazine, and ByBlacks. In addition to writing and editing, Tomi works in civic education and voter engagement and serves as board president of Plastic-Free YYC. Tomi holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Mount Royal University and a master’s in public policy from the University of Calgary. Tomi was recently named one of Avenue Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40.
