Usman Alim is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Calgary. He directs the Visualization and Graphics Group that addresses a variety of problems in Visual Computing using multidisciplinary approaches rooted in Data Visualization, Computer Graphics, Image Processing, Scientific Computing, High Performance Computing, Data Science and Machine Learning. He is also the co-director of the Data Science and Analytics professional graduate program
